P&W Opens New Engine Centre

Pratt & Whitney has opened a new engine centre at the company’s West Palm Beach, Florida, facility. Announced in 2012, the centre employs 230 people and cost $63.7m. The 97,000sq-ft facility produces PW1100G engines for the A320neo. Pratt & Whitney expects to create 110 new jobs in the site’s auxiliary power unit (APU) business by 2016 and is set to spend $25m in capital investment to support APU production.
