Rolls-Royce And Hispano-Suiza Sign MoU

Engine maker Rolls-Royce has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Hispano-Suiza to develop new transmission systems for its civil aviation engines.

Under the MoU, the two companies will establish an “exclusive and long-term” 50:50 joint venture (JV) to develop accessory drive train transmission systems for Rolls-Royce engines throughout their lifecycle. The JV will be headquartered in France and also have activities in Germany and the UK, including one production facility.

Hispano-Suiza, which is part of the Safran Group, is also already working with Rolls-Royce on power transmission systems for the Trent XWB, as well as for CFM International’s LEAP.
