Rolls-Royce Invests In New Dahlewitz Facility

Rolls-Royce is planning to expand its aerospace research and capabilities in Dahlewitz, Germany through building a new test-bed for power gear boxes which will support the development of the next generation aero-engine designs. The investment has a value of €65m - 20 per cent of which is funded by the German and the Brandenburg government - and is part of the company’s existing mid- to long-term technology investment plans. "We are delighted by the decision of Rolls-Royce to build this test-stand in Germany. The proposed activities are fully in line with our funding strategy to develop the aerospace industry and will contribute further to our increasingly strong footprint in this sector," said Brigitte Zypries, secretary of state, ministry for economics and energy.
