Second 787-9 Dreamliner Takes Off

Boeing’s second 787-9 Dreamliner completed its first flight yesterday (November 7). The aircraft departed Paine Field in Everett at 8.06am and landed after a successful four hour, 18 minute flight. This model is the first 787-9 to be fitted with elements of the passenger interior, and will be used to test systems such as the environmental control system in addition to avionics and other aspects of aircraft performance. The first delivery of the 787-9 to its launch customer, Air New Zealand, is scheduled for mid-2014.
