TAPAS Programme Extended

Airbus, Fokker and TenCate are to sign a contract marking the next stage of the ‘Thermoplastic Affordable Primary Aircraft Structure’ innovation programme (TAPAS), extending it until 2017. The TAPAS consortium, launched in 2010, consists of companies and knowledge institutes in the Dutch aerospace industry working with Airbus on the development of thermoplastic composite applications in aircraft fuselages, wings and tail sections. TAPAS 2 has a budget of €24.3m, with the Netherlands Ministry of Economic Affairs supporting the ongoing partnership with a loan of €9.5m.
