Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau Approves DAC’s Gen-X EFB

DAC International has announced that the Japanese Civil Aviation Bureau has approved its Gen-X Electronic Flight Bag (EFB) hardware with touch panel display - an avionics certified PC that is suitable for other applications when installed into an aircraft. The EFB and its Iridium phone system work alongside Navicom Aviation’s NMS-01S, a helicopter moving map and auto tracking system, to generate a map and interface. The hardware, which is designed for airline and corporate use, features a new interface with an auto-tracking system that enables the transmission of character message from air to ground – including registered position, without the need for an additional interface unit.
