WSI Expands Coverage Using ADS-B

Weather tracking software supplier, WSI, has announced that it has expanded the number of data sources its WSI Fusion programme uses to track aircraft to include ADS-B and Multilateration (MLAT). The changes, it claims, provide enhanced global tracking coverage for situational awareness, real-time capacity and route insight – around 60% of all passenger aircraft operating worldwide are equipped with ADS-B. WSI has also confirmed that from this summer, new MLAT technologies will also increase coverage for aircraft fitted with Mode S transponders.
